Pitching brands
UGC pitch email template
A four-sentence cold pitch template that names a concrete concept, links proof, and states your rate — the structure that gets replies from busy marketers.
When to use this
Your first contact with a brand you have never spoken to. Keep it under 120 words and do not attach anything on the first send.
Subject: UGC concept for [PRODUCT] Hi [FIRST NAME], I've been using [PRODUCT] for a few months, and the thing I'd actually put on camera is [SPECIFIC OBSERVATION]. I'd shoot a 30-second vertical piece built around [CONCEPT], with two alternate hooks so you can test them against each other in paid. Recent work is here: [PORTFOLIO LINK] Rates start at [RATE] per video including [LICENCE]; paid-ad rights are quoted separately. Happy to send two concepts before you decide. [YOUR NAME]
What to fill in
- [FIRST NAME]
- The named contact — a social, content, or brand manager, or the founder at a smaller brand.
- [PRODUCT]
- One specific product, not the brand as a whole.
- [SPECIFIC OBSERVATION]
- Something only a real user would say. This is the line that proves it isn't a mail-merge.
- [CONCEPT]
- The angle you would shoot, in one clause.
- [PORTFOLIO LINK]
- Your public portfolio URL.
- [RATE]
- Your starting rate for a single deliverable.
- [LICENCE]
- What that rate includes, e.g. 90-day organic usage.
Make it work harder
- Rewrite the observation line for every single brand. Everything else can stay fixed.
- State a rate. It qualifies the conversation and anchors the negotiation at your number.
- Follow up in the same thread at day 7 and day 18, adding something new each time — then stop.
