Media kit builder

Media kit builders for UGC creators

Answer who you are, what you shoot, and what it costs — on one page.

A media kit is a sales document, not a design exercise. Its whole job is to let a brand decide whether to reply to you without needing a second email, which means it has to answer three questions fast: what do you shoot, what does it cost, and what does the work look like.

Most media kits fail by being beautiful and vague. A well-designed page that never states a rate forces the brand to write back asking, and a meaningful share of them simply do not.

What to look for

One page
Anything longer is not read. A media kit is not a deck; if you have a deck's worth of material, that is a portfolio and it should be a separate link.
A rate or a starting rate
The most commonly omitted and most valuable element. Even "from $X per video, usage priced separately" removes an entire round-trip and filters out brands whose budget was never going to work.
Opens on a phone without downloading
A file that has to be downloaded before it can be read is a file that sometimes is not read. This is the strongest argument for a link over an attachment.
Updatable without resending
Rates change and new work lands. If updating means emailing a new file to everyone who has the old one, the version brands are holding is permanently out of date.
Honest numbers, or none
If your reach is small, lead with the work instead. Inflated or cherry-picked stats are checked more often than creators expect, and being caught costs the deal.

The options

OptionWhere it winsWhere it stops
A design tool PDFCanva and similar template-based design toolsExcellent design control, huge template selection, free to use, and the output looks genuinely professional. For a printed or attached one-pager it is hard to beat.Static and detached. The moment you send it, that version is frozen — a rate change means a new file, and you have no idea whether it was ever opened. Video can only appear as a still.
A document or slide fileUniversally openable and requires no new tool.Renders differently depending on what opens it, and shares the PDF's staleness problem without its design quality.
A page on your own siteLive, updatable, and can embed video properly.Someone has to build and maintain it, and a public rates page is a real strategic choice — it removes your ability to price per client.
A dedicated media kit builderStructured so you cannot omit the sections that matter, live at a stable link, and updatable in place.Less design freedom than a blank canvas in a design tool.

Where sproutUGC sits

There is a free media kit builder on this site that runs entirely in your browser with no signup — fill in seven sections and print, save as PDF, or copy as text. The paid app additionally hosts it as a live link that updates in place. The honest comparison with a design tool: they win on visual freedom, a live link wins on never being stale and on carrying video.

You don’t need a tool for this if…

  • You are pitching fewer than a handful of brands and can write the same information into the email body — for very low volume, that converts fine.

Questions

What goes in a UGC media kit?

A one-line description of who you are and what you shoot; the niches or product categories you work in; three to five pieces of work or a link to your portfolio; your deliverable types and starting rates with usage priced separately; turnaround time; any relevant audience numbers, but only if they help; and how to contact you. One page. If you can only include one thing most creators leave out, make it the rate.

Is a Canva media kit or a live link better?

A design tool gives you better visual control and a file you can attach anywhere; a live link never goes stale, can play video inline, and lets you update a rate without resending anything. For cold outreach the link usually wins because it is one click on a phone. For a formal proposal to a large brand, an attached PDF still reads as more conventional. Many creators sensibly keep both from the same content.

Should I put my rates in my media kit?

Yes, or at least a starting rate. Omitting it forces an extra email that a share of brands never send, and it wastes your time on brands whose budget was never viable. A starting rate with usage priced separately keeps room to negotiate while still qualifying the conversation.
